President Trump is appealing the January ruling to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan.
He continues to vehemently deny Carroll’s claims that he sexually assaulted her in a department store fitting room in 1996.
A jury found E. Jean Carroll liable for $83.3 million in damages for defaming her with past statements attacking her credibility. Her compensatory damages are $18.3 million and her punitive damages are $65 million.

The bond amount is higher than the total damages because 110% of the judgment amount must be accounted for during the appeal process.
A federal insurance company based in Chesapeake, Virginia, provided the bond, according to a document signed by the former president.
Trump’s lawyers said he made the comments about Carroll to “protect his reputation, protect his family and protect his presidency.”
