Trump’s border czar calls for weekly deportation briefings: ‘Need to be very transparent’

President-elect Donald Trump's next border czar, Tom Homan, said Sunday that he wants to hold weekly news conferences on the administration's progress on mass deportations.

At a roundtable event in Florida over the weekend, Homan detailed plans to keep Americans regularly updated on the arrest and deportation of illegal aliens.

“My picture will be thrown all over the place as the devil.”

“We need to be very transparent,” he said. “We need to hold weekly press conferences at the White House about who we're going to arrest, who we're going to rescue, who we're going to put in jail, who we're going to deport, and the American people need to know that we're keeping our promises.” There is.”

“Everything will change on Jan. 20,” Homan declared, the day of his inauguration.

He vowed to end the Biden administration's continued catch-and-release policy that has allowed millions of illegal aliens to enter the country and remain in the country while awaiting immigration proceedings.

Homan said he expected negative headlines but would not allow the media to attack him in order to thwart the administration's mass deportation efforts.

“It's going to be sad. It's going to be controversial. It's going to be emotional. It always is,” he said. “And what will the media do? The first woman to cry, the first child to cry, will be in the news, and my picture will be thrown all over the place as the devil.”

“I read the other day that I am a descendant of Satan,” Homan continued. “Say what you want. I'm not going to say like ***. We're going to do this in the most humane way. We're going to enforce the law without apology.”

Homan said: daily mail He said he is actively working to find countries that will accept deported illegal aliens whose home countries refuse to accept U.S. repatriation flights.

He said he is acting now and is “not waiting” for President Trump's term to begin.

“We are already in talks, so we will be looking for a third country,” Homan told the Daily Mail. “I'm not going to take any credit until they sign the agreement and we get it done.”

Homan declined to say which countries he is currently negotiating with. However, Reuters reported in December that three sources confirmed that Guatemala had agreed to accept illegal immigrants from other countries. NBC News previously reported that the incoming Trump administration has also reached out to the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Bahamas, Panama and Grenada.

Homan said he hopes Congress quickly passes a budget for the mass deportation plan, starting at $86 billion to fund detention beds and operating costs.

“Let's say a person is an illegal alien. Let's say he's a criminal. He's from El Salvador and he's been convicted of murder,” he explained. “You can't put him on a plane from day one. He has to be detained long enough to get travel documents and landing rights. El Salvador has to recognize that it's theirs.”

Homan noted that detention beds are needed because deportations can take days or weeks.

Trump's transition team did not respond to requests for comment from the Daily Mail or newspapers. new york post.
