Trump’s class war on Harvard – podcast | Harvard University

Harvard University filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration on Monday on citing the recent $2 billion (£1.5 billion) freeze was illegal. This is the most important act of resistance taken by American universities in response to Trump’s crackdown on higher education.

Ed PilkingtonGuardian US Chief Leporter explains Michael Sapphi To fall into Trump’s demands meant it had seriously undermined Harvard’s reputation and the administration targeted it as a fortress of liberal thinking.

As Pilkington explains, at the same time, Trump sees the liberal ideas that come out of college as unrelated to their lives, taking the deep responsive seams to higher education that are being built in the United States.

The pair discusses how Harvard University is trying to appeal to the public by highlighting its contribution to society and whether the ultimate survival of higher education autonomy will be decided by a court or public opinion court.
