Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey (D) said on CBS' “Face the Nation” on Sunday that she doesn't believe former President Donald Trump's proposal to get the government or insurance companies to pay for in vitro fertilization (IVF) because “he's going to say whatever the wind blows.”
“This should not be taken seriously. This is not just Republicans – and I get on well with Republicans – but this is Donald Trump, a man who will say whatever the wind blows. The other day he came under fire and all of a sudden he made a statement that he is a believer in IVF, which is patently false and offensive,” Healey said.
She added, “The thing is, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are out on the offensive every day. They're in Republican counties, they're in Republican states, they're everywhere. They're not just speaking to Democrats, they're speaking to Republicans, independents and the millions of Americans who watched Labor Day and still haven't decided who they're going to vote for. And they're bringing up issue after issue – protecting the middle class, a functioning economy, defending reproductive freedom. These are all things that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz believe in and fight for, and these are things that Donald Trump and J.D. Vance have no idea about and can't deliver.”
