Prominent lawyer Alan Dershowitz has witnessed the hush money trial against former President Donald Trump firsthand and is shocked by how blatant the anti-Trump bias is.
Attorney Robert Costello reportedly committed the crime of raising his eyebrows while testifying for the defense, an offense that prompted Judge Juan Marchan to remove everyone from the courtroom, including the press, and to threaten to dismiss Costello’s testimony if he raised his eyebrows again.
Dershowitz was allowed to stay for some reason.
“I just can’t understand how our justice system got to this point so quickly.” glenn beck Dershowitz said he was shocked by what was happening in the Manhattan courtroom.
“I wish the trial had been televised so the whole country could see the vein in the judge’s head popping out,” Dershowitz told Glenn.
“This judge was very lenient with the prosecution, recalling that he had Stormy Daniels testify that he had sex in missionary position, that he used some kind of deodorant, that he wore silk pajamas, etc.” Dershowitz says, “What does that have to do with immigration cases related to bookkeeping?” Dershowitz said.
The judge then also placed restrictions on what other witnesses could speak.
“He was allowed to say that he had repeatedly said that he didn’t know anything about Trump. But he was restricted from saying many other things. As he said, he had sworn to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, but the judge said, ‘No, all I want is a partial truth.'”
According to reports, when the country’s leading expert on campaign contributions was called as a witness and was prepared to testify that there were no illegal campaign contributions, Marchan said he could not testify as to whether they were illegal or legal. Said.
“This judge has a purpose,” Dershowitz said. “This case is so absurd. In my 60 years of practicing, teaching and writing about criminal law, I have never seen a weaker case, and yet, this is a New York jury, and they could get a conviction.”
Although clearly biased, this judge has made an example of this jury.
“When the jury is in, he’s merciful. It’s when the jury is out that he becomes a true tyrant,” Dershowitz explains.
