Trump's Justice Department Readies Investigation of Soros Groups and the News is Rapidly Shared with Liberal Media

The New York Times shared on Thursday that U.S. attorneys are instructed to develop a plan to look into billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundation (OSF).

Allegations involve serious charges like support for arson, assault, wire fraud, and even terrorism. This directive, sent by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s office, was reported by the NYT. They noted that since 2016, Soros’ OSF has funneled over $80 million into groups alleged to be linked to terrorism and extremist activities, according to the Capital Research Center (CRC).

A spokesperson from the Department of Justice (DOJ) declined to comment on any potential investigations or legal actions. “The Attorney General is focused on ensuring the safety of all Americans,” the spokesperson stated. If any organization is found to jeopardize public safety or violate laws, all legal options will be pursued, they added, emphasizing that there is no tolerance for terrorism.

Various U.S. attorney offices in cities like California, New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Detroit, and Maryland have received these orders, as mentioned by the NYT.

Alex Soros, George Soros’ son, took over the OSF in December 2022. In response to the allegations, an OSF representative described them as a politically charged attempt to suppress civil society, saying that it threatens the right to free speech.

The organization claims they have not been made aware of any investigation or directives so far. “Abuse of power that infringes on individuals’ rights endangers everyone’s rights,” the spokesperson added. “Our efforts in the U.S. are solely focused on fortifying democracy and constitutional freedoms. We stand by our mission to enhance lives both here and globally.”

The Political Action Committee supported by Soros has been accused of backing district attorneys amidst rising crime in various cities. Groups funded by Soros purportedly trained individuals involved in protests during the 2020 riots and allegedly supported campaigns that resulted in over 40 prosecutors nationwide facing accusations, as cited in CRC reports.

According to reports, OSF has given about $23 million to organizations involved in actions that fit the FBI’s criteria for domestic terrorism, which includes those linked to the October 7 Hamas attacks.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Virginia could be preparing to indict former FBI director James Comey in the near future. That’s a twist I didn’t see coming.

In light of recent events, including the assassination of Charlie Kirk, former President Donald Trump labeled Soros as the “bad guy,” advocating for his imprisonment. Trump has previously stated that Soros should face prosecution for causing significant damage to the country.

Trump remarked, “George Soros and his radical son should be held accountable for supporting violent protests and other activities across America. We won’t let these individuals tear our nation apart.”

In response, OSF has stated that they “do not support or fund violent protests.” This whole situation, to be honest, feels quite complicated, and the line between activism and accountability seems to be constantly shifting.
