Trump's Truth Social criticism of Charlamagne prompts response from the radio host

Charlamagne Tha God, the host of “The Breakfast Club,” intensified his critique of President Donald Trump’s second term on Monday after Trump lashed out at him in a social media post. During a series of interviews over the weekend, including one with Lara Trump, Charlamagne emphasized that he believes Trump hasn’t delivered on key campaign promises, particularly regarding economic improvements for struggling Americans.

“I don’t think things are as positive as some like to say, especially when the least fortunate are still struggling,” he commented on Trump’s presidency, arguing that reforms in programs like Medicaid might negatively impact low-income families.

In turn, Trump accused Charlamagne of being a “racist” in a post shared on True Social. He labeled him a “low-IQ individual” and claimed that he doesn’t grasp the realities of his accomplishments in areas like the economy and foreign policy.

The back-and-forth continued on Monday as Charlamagne responded to Trump’s insults with humor, suggesting that some people might actually agree with being called a “three bag.” He also reflected on the term “sleazebag,” noting its definition and indicating that it could apply loosely, depending on one’s perspective.

Charlamagne firmly denied Trump’s claims of racism, pointing out that he never mentioned race in his discussion with Lara Trump. He found it ironic that Trump would accuse him of such, especially given his administration’s problematic approach to diversity and civil rights.

Charlamagne criticized Trump’s executive order aimed at controlling narratives around systemic racism in black history, suggesting that it’s an attempt to erase important discussions and historical injustices. “It’s troubling, really,” he remarked, as he raised concerns about the implications of this policy for civil rights advocates.

Despite the ongoing tension, Charlamagne maintained that he roots for Trump’s success, believing that a successful presidency could benefit the country. “We need to hold fast to the promise of transparency, especially concerning serious issues like the Epstein Files,” he stated, signaling a need for accountability from leadership.
