Egg prices have skyrocketed, reaching a record average of $4.95 for Grade A eggs across the United States due to ongoing avian flu outbreaks and chicken culls and inflation during the Biden administration.
Rollins, who was confirmed Thursday, said he was immediately explained about the avian flu and was instructed to tackle egg prices as soon as he was sworn in.
“My first briefing – I think I was voted around noon yesterday. I was sworn around 3, took a few photos and quickly explained the USDA team and the prices of bird flu and eggs. ” Rollins said in an interview Friday. Breitbart News.
“We are looking at all the tools in our toolkit, including biosecurity measures,” she continued. “It's really important that farmers identify additional funds to protect against avian flu due to cancellation of the DEI program.”
“There are other countries that use vaccines in egg layers that don't have these issues,” Rollins added. “It's a complicated solution because there's the impact of trade. But if the prices of Canadian eggs are much lower than ours and they use that approach, we'll make it strong You need to see it.”
Bad policies, overregulation, and avian flu have created the perfect storm, resulting in record-breaking egg prices.
My team and I are working on immediate action to reduce the cost of common eggs and food for Americans.
Throughout the interview, Rollins praised President Trump for pledging to lower inflation for Americans who struggle to provide their families.
“In many of his interviews and campaign halts, he talked about what happened under Joe Biden and what it did to moms trying to buy groceries,” she said. I've said that. “I'm a mom of four teenagers. I feel this like everyone else does.”
Additionally, Rollins also criticized the Biden administration's handling of avian flu, noting that previous administrations chose to depopulate chickens to manage the crisis.
“We're working to accelerate the re-fire as the Biden administration and its USDA escaped, as the Biden administration and its USDA negligently neglected millions of egg layers,” Rollins continued. “How do we quickly re-farm those farmers and their flocks? These are all important points and there are other things we can do, but this doesn't happen overnight. ”
“It's likely that we'll start to cool this down in the coming weeks, and in the coming months, we've already been talking with other food producers around the country, but it's important that everyone realizes there's no magic. I think. A cane swing here. But there are a few things we can do to ensure that this never happens again, not just for the next quarter of this year, but for the next 10 and 50 years.”
