Trump’s win leads to surge in Americans looking to move abroad: study

Democrats are finally starting to do something about immigration.

Following Donald Trump's historic re-election to the White House, a surprising number of Americans this week are taking the collapse of the left a step further and considering moving abroad.

Since the president-elect's upset victory became official on Wednesday, related Google searches have increased by 1,514%. According to VisaGuide.World.

Between voting days on Tuesday and Wednesday, search traffic on “immigration” pages on the site increased by 338%, the site said, highlighting the easiest countries for people looking to move abroad.

Other pages that saw significant increases in traffic were focused on specific regions. For example, interest in our guide to immigrating from the US to the UK jumped 375%, and interest in pages about Ireland jumped 355%.

Scandinavia also appealed to distraught voters, with Norwegian guides receiving 437% more attention.

Germany-Visa.org saw a 336% increase in immigration page traffic. This includes special attention to the Opportunity Card, which allows anyone from a non-European Union country to live in Germany for up to a year to find work.

According to VisaGuide.World, the keyword “Immigrate from the US to Germany” was searched 42 times more in the last week.

Searches for “how to move to Europe” increased by 1,566%, and inquiries for “English speaking countries” increased by 1,328%.

According to search data, the most popular countries Americans may consider moving to include Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

Costa Rica and Mexico were also included in the list of people seeking to flee the United States.
