Tulane Women’s Basketball Coach Wears Kamala Harris Shirt to First Game After Election, Loses Game

Tulane women's basketball coach Ashley Langford appeared to have slept through Tuesday's election ever since she appeared on the sideline Thursday wearing a Kamala Harris campaign shirt.

Langford's fashion choices went viral for obvious reasons.

Tulane's season opener against Nicholls State went well for Langford, as did Tuesday's election. Langford College women lost to Nicholls State University 65-63. Still, the game was at least close, and it may have been as close as the losers of the political polling world mistakenly thought Tuesday's election would go.

The loss was probably also disappointing for the coach who played on the team she currently leads.

But Langford, 37, is better at basketball than he is at politics. During her first stint as head coach at Stony Brook, the Pennsylvania native compiled a 69-24 record in her three seasons there. Due to impending conference changes, her team was expelled from the America East Tournament, but she finished the season with a 23-6 record. She finished her second season in CAA with an 18-13 record, losing to Northeastern in the conference quarterfinals. She bounced back in her third season, finishing the regular season 25-3 and 16-2 in conference play.

But despite Stony Brook's desire to keep her with the Seawolves, Tulane snatched her up and she will serve as head coach at her alma mater this season.
