MSNBC Host Criticizes Trump-Putin Summit

During a live broadcast, MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace expressed her frustration and sadness over the recent summit between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. She claimed that American leaders “don’t give a ‘S’ about democracy.”

Wallace said, “It’s distressing to watch our president stand with those responsible for so much suffering and death. It just feels sinister.” She highlighted the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine, describing the fear parents face in sending their children to school amidst the violence.

She continued, “To see the American president support those bringing weapons to Russia, and yet not stand up for our democratic allies—it’s baffling.” Wallace lamented the potential disregard for democracy shown by the U.S. leadership.

Hillary Clinton’s Comment

In a surprising twist, Hillary Clinton remarked that if she were to help broker peace between Ukraine and Russia, she would nominate Trump for a Nobel Prize.

Wallace further critiqued Trump’s body language during the photo-op with Putin, suggesting it was inappropriate. She noted, “Even from the beginning, people around Trump who understood the situation have been pushed aside. It’s embarrassing.”

She also commented on Trump’s physical interactions with Putin during their meeting, recalling, “It’s concerning how often he touched him. You almost forget how he interacts with those close to him.”

The summit took place on a red carpet in Anchorage, Alaska, which Wallace derided as “a literal red carpet welcome for war criminals.”

After the meeting, Trump described his conversation with Putin as “very productive” but mentioned that not everything was settled yet. “We agreed on a lot of points, but there are still a few remaining,” he noted. “We didn’t finalize it, but I feel optimistic about our chances.”
