Two people were slashed at a Manhattan school Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Police said the victims, both men, were shot, one in the head and the other, during a riot at the school building on West 49th Street near 10th Street in Hell’s Kitchen that began at 1:20 p.m. The person was reportedly stabbed in the chest with a knife.
The two injured victims were hospitalized and taken into custody, police said.
Police could not immediately confirm their ages or whether they were students.

It is unclear what sparked the violence or how exactly the clashes unfolded.
Police also could not immediately clarify whether the violence occurred inside or outside the building.
The building is home to several schools, including Stephen T. Mather Building Arts & Craftsmanship High School, Urban Assembly Gateway School for Technology and Success Academy Charter School – Midtown West Middle School.
