Tyler Robinson's roommate and partner given limited immunity for a statement recorded after Kirk's murder

Prosecution Gains Key Testimony in Tyler Robinson Case

Prosecutors have made a significant advance with Lance Twiggs, who was both a former roommate and transgender partner of Tyler Robinson, charged with the murder of Charlie Kirk. Twiggs has been granted a “use exemption” in exchange for a sworn statement that reveals Robinson’s confession.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the 22-year-old would receive qualified immunity to ensure the recorded testimony he provided in April could be utilized in court. This was part of the preparations for a preliminary hearing.

In addition to Twiggs’ testimony, the state plans to introduce several incriminating messages and photos allegedly from Robinson, found on Twiggs’ cell phone.

Prosecutors noted, “On April 20, 2026, Mr. Twiggs provided a sworn recorded statement, once warned that any dishonesty could lead to legal repercussions, including obstruction of justice charges. He has been granted immunity from the use of this statement by both federal and state authorities. This means the statements he made during that session cannot be used against him in court,” according to the filing.

The testimony reportedly includes Robinson’s admissions regarding the murder of Charlie Kirk, as well as actions taken afterward, such as hiding the firearm and disposing of clothing. Additionally, he allegedly instructed Twiggs not to contact law enforcement.

It was highlighted that while many communications were electronic, a handwritten confession addressed to Twiggs, whom Robinson referred to as “Luna,” was also found.

The note stated, “Luna, if you’re reading this as I wrote, I’m really sorry. I left home for a mission today and sent you an automatic text. I might be facing a long prison sentence or worse. I chose to take action against Charlie Kirk.” It continued, “I wish I could be with you and live our life. Please find happiness, I love you always, Tyler,” as per the warrant details.

Interestingly, the confession made by Twiggs in April aligns closely with his earlier statements to investigators on September 11, coinciding with the day Robinson turned himself in following the incident at Utah Valley University.
