U.S. Expresses Gratitude to Middle Eastern Nations for Supporting Gaza Security Council Resolution

Security Council Resolution Supports Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan

The U.S. Mission to the United Nations expressed gratitude towards numerous Middle Eastern nations, as well as Indonesia, for their backing of a Security Council resolution endorsing President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace initiative for Gaza.

A joint statement released on Thursday involved the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. They approved a U.S.-drafted resolution currently under examination that aims to bring the plan to fruition.

The statement mentioned, “The historic comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza, announced on September 29, received approval via a resolution and was celebrated in Sharm al-Sheikh.”

On October 13, leaders including Mr. Trump, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared their support for the peace initiative in Egypt, just after a prior agreement with Hamas.

The release emphasized that the process “provides a path to self-determination and statehood for the Palestinian people.”

The countries added, “We stress that this is a genuine effort, offering a viable path towards peace and stability, not only for Israel and Palestine but for the entire region as well. We look forward to the quick adoption of this resolution.”

The U.S. Mission to the United Nations also extended its thanks to the supporting nations.

The United States expresses gratitude to Qatar, Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jordan, and Turkiye for their support of the Security Council resolution on Gaza, which furthers President Trump’s historic 20-point plan to resolve the conflict there.

This plan, achieving robust regional backing in Sharm el-Sheikh on September 29, is viewed as a credible means to establish lasting peace and stability for Israelis, Palestinians, and the broader region. We urge prompt implementation.

During the signing in Sharm el-Sheikh last month, President Trump addressed a global audience surrounded by leaders from various nations.

“Today is a day that people in this region and around the world have worked, strived for, hoped for, and prayed for,” he remarked. “With this historic agreement, the prayers of millions are finally being answered. The hostages have been returned, and work continues tragically to recover those lost.”

He further articulated his vision for a future where the Middle East could possibly emerge as a cultural and commercial hub.

“Let us maintain the spirit of collaboration and goodwill that led to this groundbreaking achievement,” he urged.

“Together, we can realize the extraordinary future of the Middle East as a secure, prosperous, and vibrant center of culture and commerce, embodying hope in humanity,” he concluded. “This will be the geographic center of the world.”
