U.S. Strikes in Iran Amid Rising Tensions

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported that it conducted a series of strikes against Iranian military targets as tensions escalate in the region.

According to their statement, U.S. military forces targeted around 90 Iranian installations on Wednesday, following remarks from President Trump declaring the ceasefire with Iran nullified from his perspective.

CENTCOM affirmed, “U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces completed an additional round of strikes against Iran on July 8, to further degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping and innocent civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz.”

They detailed the strikes included air defense systems, coastal surveillance equipment, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics across Iran’s coastline.

Following CENTCOM’s announcement, both Kuwait and Bahrain, home to U.S. forces and military resources, reported detecting hostile air assets in their skies.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense indicated that three ballistic missiles, one cruise missile, and ten drones were intercepted. This raises the conflict’s total to 16 cruise missiles, almost 400 ballistic missiles, and over 900 drones detected since tensions with Iran began, based on statements from Kuwait’s Army General Staff.

Bahrain faced similar incursions, with the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) confirming several Iranian aerial attacks had been intercepted and neutralized.

The BDF stated, “With firm resolve and high combat readiness, the Bahrain Defense Force’s air defense systems confronted, intercepted, and destroyed several treacherous Iranian aerial attacks this morning, Thursday, July 9, 2026.”

Increased aggression in the region followed Iran’s attacks on three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM reported it retaliated with strikes on over 80 targets on Tuesday.

CENTCOM emphasized, “U.S. forces remain vigilant, lethal, and prepared to execute operations directed by the Commander in Chief.”

Overall, the situation remains fluid, and developments are being closely monitored.
