Ukraine agrees to 30-day ceasefire as US prepares to lift military aid restrictions | Ukraine

Ukraine said it was ready to immediately accept a 30-day ceasefire in the war with Russia as it announced it would immediately resolve restrictions on military aid and sharing intelligence news after high stakes talks in Saudi Arabia.

Donald Trump said he hopes Vladimir Putin will return and forth. If the Russian president did, it would mark its first ceasefire in more than three years since it launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Hours after the Ukrainian declaration, Russia launched an air force attack on Kiev. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said air defense is engaged in repelling strikes.

The agreement was announced in a joint statement following consultations between senior US and Ukrainian officials in Jeddah, coming nearly two weeks after the elliptical offices between Trump and Ukrainian leader Voldimuli exploded. Zelensky led the White House to suspend aid to Ukraine over objections from its European allies.

“It's a complete ceasefire,” Trump told reporters outside the White House on Tuesday after talks. “Ukraine agreed to that, and hopefully Russia would agree to that.”

US officials said they hoped the agreement would help lead to talks to end the war. Trump envoy Steve Witkov is planning to travel to Moscow in the coming days to propose a ceasefire against Putin.

It is not clear whether Putin is ready to accept the ceasefire in its current form. Trump said he hopes to speak with Putin later this week. Russian media reports that their conversation could take place on Friday.

Trump continued: “We're going to meet them.” [the Russians] I hope it goes well with today and the second half of tomorrow. [work] I'll do a transaction. I think a ceasefire is very important. If we can let Russia do that, that would be great. If we continue, people will be killed, many people. ”

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said after negotiations were over, Ball was “now in the Russian court.” “If they're there [Russia] Saying no, unfortunately, you can see what the obstacles to peace here are,” he said.

In London, Prime Minister Kiel Starmer welcomed the agreement and said: “This is an important moment for Ukraine's peace, and we now need to double our efforts to ensure peace as soon as possible. Russia must now agree to a ceasefire and the end of the battle,” he said, “We will convene leaders this Saturday to discuss the next steps.”

French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed the “progress” that was given in a speech in Jeddah on Tuesday, but Kiev argued that “robust” security guarantees were needed in the ceasefire.

In Poland, Prime Minister Donald Tass praised the US and Ukraine for “an important step towards peace.”

In a joint US statement, Ukraine said it was “prepared to accept the US proposal to enact an immediate interim ceasefire, extended by mutual agreement between the parties and subject to approval and implementation of the agreement by the Russian Federation.”

After the talks, Zelensky thanked Trump in a televised statement, saying Wickness was committed to seeking peace “to ensure that the war does not return.”

“Ukraine is ready to accept this proposal. We see it as a positive step and are ready to take it,” Zelensky said. “It's up to the US to convince Russia to do the same now. If Russia agrees, the ceasefire will be carried out immediately.”

Putin will be forced to decide whether to close a temporary ceasefire with the White House under the new Trump administration or a risky sour relationship.

“The United States tells Russia that Russian mutual relations are the key to achieving peace,” the statement read.

The decision puts great pressure on Ukraine to agree to a U.S. proposal deal, including information sharing, more than a week after the US blocked critical aid to Ukraine, including the delivery of military radar and ammunition.

“Today, the Ukrainian delegation has created something very clear: they share President Trump's vision for peace,” said Mike Waltz, the US national security adviser, also taking part in negotiations.

As a result, the US said it would “quickly lift the suspension of intelligence sharing and resume security assistance to Ukraine.”

The statement also revives a controversial mineral trading plan to give the United States a 50% stake in revenue from the sale of Ukraine's mineral wealth. Trump has said the transaction will provide tacit security guarantees by linking US economic interests with Ukraine's security.

“Trump and Zelensky will sign a comprehensive agreement as soon as possible to expand Ukraine's economy and develop Ukraine's critical mineral resources to ensure its long-term prosperity and security,” the statement said.

The story of the marathon crunch in Saudi Arabia aimed to build confidence despite the personal crisis between Trump and Zelensky.

Zelenskyy sent his Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak, and Trump sent Rubio and Waltz.

“We are ready to do everything to achieve peace,” Yermak told reporters that he had arrived for a meeting held in a gorgeous room offered by the Gulf nation.

Both sides spoke to us for three hours in the morning, afternoon and evening before taking a break. During the talk, Yermak posted one line on social media: “Work in progress.”

If Russia agreed to the same, the Ukrainians were expected to propose a one-month ceasefire to the Americans in the air and in the sea.

The offer was designed to show Americans that Ukraine is bringing constructive proposals to the table.

During his flight, Rubio said that Washington's main purpose is to see whether Kiev “must “have to suspend this conflict, or at least in some form, form, or form, so that the Russians have to do things that are difficult.”

Domestic, Zelensky's flag rating was boosted by a dressdown at the White House, but there is rage at Trump's demands, but given the difficult situation before the three-year war, there is a strong feeling that the Ukrainian president should make every effort to correct his relationship with the White House.

Since the Washington fiasco, Ukraine has tried to flatten Trump, preventing the peace plan from being forced to do so. Writing in the Guardian before consultations began, Yermak praised “the strong leadership of America,” but said “just and sustainable peace must be found.”

It is understood that British and French officials were particularly key in advising Kiev on how best to guide Americans to their position. Tapered advisor Jonathan Powell regularly contacted Yamac and visited Kiev over the weekend. Yermak said the visit was part of “a collaboration with partners to develop a plan to achieve just and lasting peace before the Saudi Arabia summit.”

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tass posted a social media update on Tuesday, highlighting the importance of the Ukraine talk that day.

“Dear American, dear Ukrainian, don't waste this opportunity. Today the whole world is looking at you in Jeddah. Good luck!” he said.

Russia was celebrating the loss of military and intelligence news support from Ukraine's biggest, previously unshakable supporters.

Even in the current scenario where the Trump team appears to require more sacrifices from Kiev than Moscow, it is still unclear what peace deal Russia is ready for.

On Tuesday, a Putin spokesman spokesman spoke before the proposal for a ceasefire, saying that the signal from Washington is pleased by many in Moscow, but added that premature celebrations should not be possible.

“You always need to want the best, but still, you need to prepare for the worst. We should always be ready to protect our interests,” Dmitry Peskov said at the meeting in a comment reported by the Russian Kommersant newspaper. “A lot of people are rushing to wear rose-colored glasses, and Americans are now saying they're either stop offering weapons or already do so. But anyway, that's going to work for us.”

On the battlefield, Moscow seized the moment when it launched its recent attack in the Kursk region of western Russia, which is about to drain Ukrainian troops.

On Tuesday, the Russian Ministry of Defense said its troops have once again recovered 100 square kilometers (38.6 square miles) and 12 settlements in Kursk, which were photographed by Ukrainian forces seven months ago. Kyiv said Kursk's operation was an attempt to obtain negotiation tips in future negotiations and force Russia to transfer power from eastern Ukraine.

In an attempt to put pressure on Moscow hours before the Jeddah peace negotiations, Ukraine launched its largest drone attack on Moscow since the start of the war.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 337 drones were launched in Russia overnight on Monday, including 91 people targeting the Moscow region, killing two people, causing fires and destroying flight and train services.
