Soboleski referred to many of these illegal border crossers as “economic immigrants,” explaining that many of these people are trying to obtain benefits provided by state governments such as Maine.

“Incredibly, we have veterans, homeless people, children, and we have to take care of them,” he continued.
The Maine lawmaker said the U.S. needs to complete the southern border wall and restore former President Donald Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy. He also called for reviving President Trump’s Operation Legend, which aims to clean up urban centers.
Mr. Soboleski wants to oust Mr. Golden, who represents a battleground state.
He said he takes issue with Golden’s record on enabling President Joe Biden’s legislative policies, including his vote for the Inflation Control Act, and condemns Golden’s call for more law-abiding citizens to own firearms. .
