Iran Launches Missile Strikes After Israeli Attack
On Friday night, Iran retaliated with a barrage of ballistic missiles following a large-scale Israeli assault. While most of these missiles were intercepted by Israeli air defense, some managed to strike areas in Tel Aviv, causing a notable impact.
A video circulating on social media shows onlookers attempting to deter the incoming missiles while one of them ultimately hit a downtown building in Tel Aviv.
Israeli Army Radio reported that approximately 150 missiles were launched by Iran shortly after 10 PM, but not all reached their target. Many were intercepted, and central Israel experienced several direct hits.
Seven injuries were reported, with one individual sustaining moderate injuries.
A subsequent wave of missiles targeted various regions, including northern and southern Israel, although no injuries were reported from this second round. Reports indicate that a total of ten missiles fell into Israeli territory across both waves of attacks.
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) shared a map indicating areas where air raid sirens were activated, asserting that the Iranian regime is focusing on Israeli civilians while Israel aims at Iranian military sites.
As of 10:09 PM, Iran announced a third wave of missile launches aimed at Israel.
Israeli citizens had been warned about the initial waves and were informed by Homefront Command that they could leave bomb shelters, though they should remain nearby.
In an update, the IDF revised the total missile count to below 100, and social media reports indicated that the number of injuries has risen to 40, including two individuals in serious condition.
