Murray appeared on “Jesse Watters Prime Time” on Thursday to discuss the former president’s meeting with the group in New York City (NYC). “Yes, just four years ago we even found out that our union even said it would support Biden,” Murray said. “The week after he took over, he laid off 10,000 of our employees, including some of my brothers.”
“He fired them,” Watters repeated.
“We fired them. There were no jobs. They were working on pipelines. [he] Shut down the pipeline. Now, the people who had jobs and were working to support their families don’t have jobs anymore,” Murray responded.
“He didn’t specifically mention it. He just fired them and that was it. No apology or anything. What else started to change and the political leanings within the union tilted towards Trump? ” asked Mr. Watters.
“The cost of living just goes through the roof. All the promises they made. They say do more work, this and that, and then all of a sudden they turn around. Illegal immigrants are coming into the country. I mean… [Governor] Kathy Hochul, she was trying to abandon our jobs,” Murray said.
“So you’re saying it’s like Democrats are here for workers and yet they’re giving our jobs to people who don’t even have legal status here yet.”
“I am always talking to my colleagues on site. 2018 was one of the busiest years in the construction industry for as long as we can remember. [Trump’s] to the office of president,” Murray said.
Watters asked Murray how he felt when he saw Trump on trial for falsifying business records.
“If you look at Mr. Trump, he’s probably there at 6:30 in the morning, shaking hands, [then] He’s about to go back to his frigid cage in court, what do you think? ” asked Mr. Watters.
“It feels really great. Our business manager, who also appears on TV, has reached out to all of the presidential candidates to see if they want to work on our membership issues. He said Trump I received a reply directly from RFK. [Jr.] And I have not received a single email or memo from Biden or his team,” Murray said.
Asked about the fairness of the trial, Murray called Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump a “disgrace” and a “kangaroo court.”
Trump was seen with the group on Thursday morning, shaking hands with workers who appeared to be looking forward to meeting the former president. A video of a Newsmax reporter interviewing a union official on the street went viral as he allegedly issued a two-letter message to Biden shortly after the rally: “Fuck you.” Later that day, Trump appeared in court on 34 felony charges for allegedly falsifying his business records to pay “hush money” to porn star Stormy Daniels.
After meeting with the former president, Bartels clarified: fox news According to the union’s poll, Mr. Trump leads Mr. Biden by a “3-1 margin” among the 9,000 members surveyed.
“We’re tired of the situation with groceries, inflation, gas prices, illegal immigration, crime, etc. We live like that every day in New York City,” Bartels said.
