UnitedHealthcare dismisses employee Alison King over remark about Trump assassination attempt

UnitedHealthcare has terminated an employee after she expressed discontent in a TikTok video regarding President Donald Trump not being killed during a shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last Saturday.

In the video, she humorously questions, “Oh, did they miss it?”

Alison King, who reportedly deleted her LinkedIn account and was identified as the company’s social media manager, mentioned, “When I heard about the president’s incident, my first thought was, ‘It’s probably fake.’ We’re in a troubling place as a nation.” She continued, “At first, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s not real, it’s probably fake.’ Then I thought, ‘Oh, they missed? I’m glad they missed.’ Yeah, that’s unfortunate,” King stated sarcastically.

King added, “That’s when we know we’re ready.”

On Tuesday, a UnitedHealthcare spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “Violence is never acceptable, and any comments implying otherwise do not align with our values. The person who made remarks about the incident at Saturday’s event, which had significant political figures including Trump, is no longer with the company.”

FOX News Digital attempted to contact King, but she chose not to respond.

The suspect in the shooting, Cole Thomas Allen, was arrested after allegedly firing shots inside the Washington Hilton Hotel during Trump’s first dinner as president and now faces life in prison.

Law enforcement stated that Allen aimed to target officials within the Trump administration. Meanwhile, on December 4, 2024, UnitedHealthcare’s CEO, Brian Thompson, was fatally shot in Manhattan. The suspected assailant, Luigi Mangione, is set to appear in court again on May 18 regarding a motion to suppress evidence related to his arrest in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
