The upcoming solar eclipse has sparked various conspiracy theories on social media.according to newsweekA total solar eclipse, which briefly darkens the sky for several hours, will be visible in 13 states on April 8. During a solar eclipse, the moon blocks the face of the sun as it passes between us. Earth.
However, this cosmic event caught the attention of Alex Jones, a well-known conspiracy theorist, who disputed it with near impunity. 8 minute video X (formerly Twitter) claimed that solar eclipses were a sign from God. He also claimed that the Ministry of Security was preparing to “hijack” so-called “biblical events.” The video, which was also posted on Jones’ website InfoWars, notes that the eclipse will pass through “eight U.S. cities named Nineveh.” However, as Newseek pointed out, only two of the eight cities are named Nineveh, including Nivenah, Indiana and Nivenah, Ohio.
InfoWars also noted that the upcoming eclipse “bears similarities to the Bul-Sagare and Assyrian eclipses during the time when Jonah approached Nineveh and urged the Assyrians to repent.” Meanwhile, X users also came up with different meanings for the eclipse.
“In my opinion, the April eclipse is, yes, the catalyst for a major earthquake on the New Madrid fault line or at the intersection of the three eclipses,” one X user wrote.
The conspiracy theory in question concerns a series of earthquakes that occurred in the Mississippi Valley along the New Madrid Fault Line, also known as the New Madrid Seismic Zone, after a solar eclipse in the United States in 1811. However, there is no scientific evidence to suggest this conspiracy. The earthquake was caused by a solar eclipse. Another conspiracy theory about X was posted by a woman named Sarah, who wrote, “Is the blue line the path of totality, the same as the line of storms that just happened to pass through the Midwest?”
Several storms and tornadoes hit Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky this past weekend, but there is no correlation between the weather events and the solar eclipse that has yet to occur.
