US and Israel reject ties to unexplained explosions in Iran that resulted in 6 deaths and many injuries.

The United States and Israel have both rejected any connection to the recent explosions in Iran that resulted in six deaths and over a dozen injuries. This incident occurred on Saturday in the port city of Bandar Abbas.

CNN highlighted that U.S. officials maintained that the explosion was unrelated to military operations, despite a major U.S. naval fleet being set to enter the Persian Gulf, where tensions with Iran have been escalating.

The Israeli government also denied allegations of conducting drone strikes aimed at Iranian military targets.

One explosion struck a residential area in Bandar Abbas, claiming the life of a child and injuring 14 others. Initial reports from state media suggested a gas leak might be to blame, and investigations are ongoing.

A separate explosion took place across the Strait of Hormuz in Khuzestan province, resulting in five fatalities from another gas-related incident, according to the Jerusalem Post. Additionally, there were some unverified reports of explosions occurring in other regions of the country.

Iranian state media countered a viral claim circulating on social media that suggested a naval officer from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps had been targeted in a drone attack.

This series of explosions comes as U.S. Central Command issued a clear warning to Iran, coinciding with the country’s plans for live military exercises in the Strait on Sunday.

“Any hazardous and unprofessional actions near U.S. forces, regional allies, or commercial vessels heighten the risk of conflict and destabilization,” CENTCOM stated on X.

Amid these rising tensions, Iranian officials have asserted that negotiations with the United States are progressing, countering what they described as an exaggerated media portrayal of hostility. Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, expressed on X that “despite the media hype, the groundwork for negotiations is advancing.”
