A group of surfers, lifeguards and other stakeholders have recently gathered around American professional surfer Mackai McNamara after being knocked unconscious. McNamara was wiped out by a massive wave of Hawaii's Banzai pipeline. It is widely considered to be one of the most dangerous surf breaks in the world.
According to Island NewsMcNamara is a frequent visitor to Banzai's pipeline and suffered a huge wave last Sunday. The aforementioned responder group helped McNamara reach safely on the coast.

Eli Olson, a professional surfer and said to be a friend of McNamara, also said the ordeal was a “an extraordinary accident.”
“It was just a bad wave, a kind of extraordinary accident, and he was the first to head to the reef,” Olson told Island News. He also described McNamara as “one of the best.” [surfers] There. ”

Olson estimated that McNamara was underwater for two minutes before anyone could reach him. He also said the responders attempted “CPR compression” during the rescue.
“He was in the water for nearly two minutes before I could reach him. First, I liked that he had his head on top of the water and that he didn't take in more water,” Olson said. “I gave him a couple [of] Breathing. Try giving him a couple [of] compression. ”
He said, “We're hit by waves here. We were recycled in the waves, then first we had him in life, and we did another round of CPR compression, and he started coughing the water.”

McNamara was able to eventually regain consciousness when he “reincarnated him in the sand.” The surfer reported. McNamara was later taken to a local hospital, where medical workers were left in the coma that led him to three days.
McNamara's father Liam provided an update on his son's status 24 hours after the tragic incident.
“It's been 24 hours since the incident and he's on his way to recovery,” he said in the video. Posted on Instagram. “He feels your energy. He feels your love. He feels your positive vibe. And we appreciate each and every one of you for your support.”

“I am grateful to my lifeguard and everyone who helped me out. Thank you for helping me save my son,” Liam continued.
“He will be in the hospital for the next two days. It requires continuous prayer and positive energy,” he added. “Makai is a strong young man and he's going to get through this.”

Meanwhile, Olson described rescue as “team effort” and expressed his hope that McNamara would make a “full recovery.”
“The key is that Makai will fully recover and we can quickly laugh and share the waves with him,” Olson said via Instagram story.
