President Donald Trump is keeping an eye on the situation in Iran as the U.S. military continues its operations, now entering the seventh night, targeting logistics and military infrastructure. Reports indicate that the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has provided updates on the unfolding events, and notable figures, including Mike Pompeo, have shared their insights.

On Sunday, CENTCOM reported that one U.S. service member lost their life during an operation involving the destruction of explosive debris from an Iranian drone that was downed in northern Iraq. Moreover, another service member sustained injuries in the same incident, according to officials.

This news followed the discovery of an unidentified body during a search for a U.S. service member who had gone missing in Jordan after a separate Iranian attack on Friday. CENTCOM confirmed this unfortunate finding.

In a specific incident in Iraq, U.S. forces had recovered a downed Iranian drone and were in the process of disposing of any explosives when tragedy struck. CENTCOM stated in a post that the service member’s death occurred during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from the drone.

While additional details remain scant for now, it has been indicated that those injured in the operation are currently receiving medical care. Jordanian authorities are also working to confirm the identity of the previously mentioned unidentified bodies recovered on Sunday.

Following a thorough search, CENTCOM confirmed the discovery of the body in a statement, emphasizing that investigative efforts are ongoing to identify the remains.

Earlier, CENTCOM had announced the loss of two U.S. service members due to an Iranian attack on a military base in Jordan. Four other service members were also medically evacuated but have since been discharged from the hospital.
