US tourists insult Buckingham Palace King’s Guard, get berated by ‘champ’ UK cop

A video of a British police officer reprimanding a group of American tourists who were caught harassing the King’s Guard outside Buckingham Palace has gone viral.

Two police officers spotted the commotion and appeared from the side, and one walked up to the security guard while being taunted by a group of tourists.

The tourists cheered and jumped as the police approached and asked the security guard to speak. But then they learned a hard lesson.

“These soldiers are serving their country. They take their job seriously,” the officer told the tourists. “They have a responsibility to protect this facility and it is not something to be ridiculed for.”

“I appreciate that you’re having fun, but he’s not. He’s had a long day and has a lot of time to do. We will not appreciate it and will ask you to leave the premises,” the officer added.

American commenters also blamed the young tourists and even apologized on their behalf.

Security guards are known for taking matters into their own hands. Many videos on social media show them yelling at tourists who have gone too far.
