The USD/CHF pair is seeing its third consecutive day of gains, increasing by 0.09% on Tuesday. This comes after it dipped to a monthly low of 0.8191 last Friday. Currently, the pair is trading at 0.8282, with buyers targeting the 0.8300 resistance level.
USD/CHF Price Forecast: Technical outlook
The price action indicates an upward trend, as the market structure has been respecting higher highs and higher lows. Moreover, a bullish engulfing candle pattern formed last week and was confirmed on Monday when USD/CHF surpassed the previous high of 0.8256 from October 23, further supporting the trend’s continuation.
Momentum appears to be bullish, as illustrated by the Relative Strength Index (RSI). So, given the current price movement and the RSI’s indications, it seems that the easiest path for USD/CHF is upward.
The immediate point of interest lies at the 0.8300 mark. If this level is breached, it could lead to a testing of the October 15 high at 0.8354, followed by the swing high of 0.8395 from October 14. If those levels are cleared, the next target would be around 0.8400, and beyond that, potentially reaching the May 12, 2025, high of 0.8476.
If the trend reverses to a bearish outlook, the first support level to watch is Monday’s low at 0.8232. Below that, the 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) is at 0.8202, followed closely by the round figure of 0.8200. A drop past this point could open the door for a move towards the 100-day SMA at 0.8143.
