A seemingly well-to-do Utah couple with six children was found dead last week in what appears to be a murder-suicide, sending shock waves through the community, according to local reports.
Police said businessman Orrin Johnson, 57, killed his wife, Kerilynn Johnson, 52, on June 20 in American Fork, an upscale neighborhood near Provo. A statement to KSL.
“After an investigation, it appears that Olin shot and killed Kerilynn and then himself,” American Fork police said in a statement.
A relative discovered the body and called 911.

Just a week earlier, her husband had posted on Facebook about his love of biking and skiing, according to 2KUTV.
“No matter how crappy I am, my bikes will always love me. Oh, and my skis. And my skis love me,” he wrote on June 18. The page is currently private.
There were no signs of a struggle, and Johnson shot her twice before turning the gun on himself, police said.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he is the owner of Simtek Modular LLC, which builds buildings for law enforcement training, and previously worked as a project manager for the construction of shooting ranges, including the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

The couple had been married for more than 30 years and had children ranging from their late teens to adults.
A motive for the murder-suicide has not been made public.
Kerilynn worked as a vocal teacher at her alma mater, Brigham Young University, and performed in numerous local stage productions.
“Kerilynn was literally one of the most generous, kind, supportive people I’ve ever known,” said Gail Lockwood, a former BYU voice teacher who taught Johnson, according to 2KUTV. “She’s a light that will be missed in the world.”

In her final Facebook post, Kerilynn promoted a tennis-instruction business her 17-year-old son started over the summer.
A longtime friend of the couple has set up a GoFundMe page to help support their grieving children.
“Many are heartbroken by the sudden loss of Orrin and Kerilynn Rowe Johnson and want to show their six children their love and support as they navigate this tragedy,” the post read. [the children] “This will prevent people from having to bear the financial burden of paying for funeral expenses and other unexpected costs in the coming weeks and months.”

The campaign had raised more than $77,000 as of Tuesday morning.
The American Fork community rallied Sunday in support of the couple and their children.
“Tonight we just want them to feel how many of us love them, cheer for their successes and grieve with them. They are not alone,” one attendee told Fox 13.
