Utah man arrested after allegedly trying to run Tesla driver off the road: report

The highway conflict in Utah puts the 27-year-old man in jail after police allegedly tried to drive Tesla off the road after police described it as a violent and dangerous act on the road.

Oscar Fayani was arrested Friday morning after the Utah Highway Patrol Troopers said they deliberately attacked Tesla while driving at speeds of more than 100 miles on Interstate 80. ksl.com.

The trooper was warned after 10am. Multiple 911 callers recklessly drove a gold sedan and reported “road raging” on a black Tesla.

Witnesses said the sedan weave lanes and chase, keeping vehicles from passing, and pushing speeds up to 120 mph.

According to the affidavit, one driver told officers he had to accelerate to 95 mph just to escape. The Tesla driver told the Troopers that the gold sedan “deliberately” hit his car and followed him even after he left the highway to escape.

When he returned I-80 minutes later, the Tesla driver said the sedan was waiting and tried to push him off the road again.

The Troopers placed the suspect’s vehicle near Great Saltau and stopped it. According to the affidavit, Fayani was found driving under a revoked license and received two aggressive outage warrants.

The troopers searched the car and reportedly tested positive for cocaine with drug equipment, a marijuana roller and two small buggies in white powder.

According to the affidavit, “Until the inventory, under the cushion in the back seat… is consistent with two small buggies, meta or cocaine or similar drug use (found) with white powdery substance residue.”

Fayani was booked at the Tule County Jail and faces several charges, including aggravated assault. This could involve strengthening road rage, driving recklessly, driving a revoked license, possession of drug equipment, and carrying two local warrants.

His total bond is set at $910.

Authorities have not said whether it is a targeted attack, but the incident occurs during a wider trend of vandalism and hostility directed at Tesla owner and CEO Elon Musk’s company.

Tesla drivers report being harassed or blocked at charging stations by gas-powered vehicles in an incident known as “Iceing.” Others use the car’s built-in Sentry Mode camera to capture vandalism, including keying, window smashing, and slashing tires.

In Kansas City, Missouri, a college student allegedly bombing a Tesla dealer was charged, causing damage to two cyber trucks and a charging station.

In Loveland, Colorado, a person allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail at a Tesla dealer and spraying indecency directed at “Nazi cars” and Elon Musk with spray paint, resulting in around $220,000 in damages.

Similar incidents have been reported in California, Texas and New York, often including politically charged graffiti and vandalism.

The Toule County Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
