US and Iran Reach Ceasefire Following Military Action
Vice President JD Vance stated that the recent US military actions effectively dismantled Iran’s nuclear program. Following a post by former President Donald Trump on his social media platform, it was confirmed that Israel and Iran have reached a complete ceasefire agreement.
During a special report, Vance mentioned that Trump learned of the ceasefire developments even before they were announced publicly. “First of all, the president—knock on wood—had one American casualty. But regarding Iran’s nuclear program, we are in a different place than we were a week ago. Just last week, Iran was close to developing nuclear weapons. Now, they can’t build them with the equipment left because we destroyed it,” he remarked.

On Saturday evening, the US targeted critical nuclear sites in Iran, including locations in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, as part of Operation Midnight Hammer. This operation saw the deployment of a significant 14 GBU-57 precision weapon against key areas, while over 20 Tomahawk missiles were launched by US submarines at Isfahan.
“The full extent of the damage will take time to assess, but initial reports indicate that all three sites sustained severe damage,” said General Dan Kane. He also informed reporters that more than 125 US aircraft were involved in this operation, including B-2 stealth bombers and numerous air refueling tankers.
Vance communicated to Fox News that the US would make efforts to ensure Iran does not restart its nuclear capabilities following the strikes. “This is encouraging for Israel. They achieved significant military objectives and assisted us in dismantling Iran’s nuclear program. Iran’s missile capabilities are a threat to Israel, and perhaps this could be an opportunity for Iran to pursue peace. Historically, their support for terror networks suggests they’re not particularly good at warfare,” he noted.
“The president has the chance to reset diplomatic relations and strive for long-term peace in the region. That has always been his goal, and looking back, I think the 12-day conflict served as a crucial turning point for everyone involved,” he added.
Trump elaborated on the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, indicating it would take effect within about six hours. His statements came just hours after Iran retaliated by launching at least 14 missiles at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
Trump indicated that the ceasefire agreement would be implemented in phases over the next 24 hours. “The Iranians have demonstrated clearly that they don’t want this conflict to drag on. Their air defenses and traditional missile programs have been extensively damaged, and their nuclear initiatives have been wiped out,” Vance explained. “It seems they’ve reached a point where they no longer wish to continue fighting.”
