Vance Criticizes Media Over Minneapolis ICE Shooting Coverage

During a press conference at the White House on Thursday, Vice President J.D. Vance expressed his displeasure with the media, accusing them of neglecting crucial details about the Minneapolis ICE shooting, especially regarding the involved agents’ backgrounds.

This incident stemmed from a deportation operation that escalated into violence when ICE agents had to protect themselves from a driver. The driver, identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Macklin Good, was shot and killed by the agents.

“You should be ashamed of yourself for repeating the lie that this is an innocent woman who was shot by a police officer while out for a drive in Minneapolis,” Vance stated.

This incident might resonate with the agent involved; it wasn’t his first encounter with vehicular violence while on duty. Video footage has emerged indicating a previous attack on the same agents back in June.

Referring to a CNN headline reading, “Outraged as ICE agents kill American citizen in Minneapolis,” Vance addressed the media attendees, saying, “Anyone who continues to assert this was an innocent woman simply out driving should be ashamed. All of you.”

Vance highlighted that six months prior, the same ICE officer had been hit by a vehicle, sustaining 33 stitches in his leg, questioning whether the officer might be a bit sensitive about being struck by a car. He pointed out that the woman’s actions were aimed at obstructing legitimate law enforcement efforts in the U.S. “What this headline misses is that the woman was part of a larger left-wing network which aims to disrupt the work of ICE agents,” he added fervently.

If the media truly seeks to deliver the facts, Vance insisted they need to acknowledge that radical leftist groups are actively trying to interfere with immigration law enforcement as mandated by the American electorate. He criticized the media’s portrayal of the incident, stating, “The overall coverage of this case is utterly disgraceful and endangers our nation’s law enforcement officers every single day.”

While Blaze News didn’t find a CNN article matching Vance’s referenced headline, CNN has published multiple articles regarding the shooting.
