Trump’s Peace Plan Affects Oil Prices, According to Vice President
Vice President J.D. Vance stated during a press conference that President Donald Trump’s peace initiative is already “bearing fruit for the American people.” He highlighted that, as of last night, 12.5 million barrels of oil were transported through the Strait of Hormuz, marking the highest figure since the conflict began.
“Oil prices have dropped nearly to pre-conflict levels, and today, gasoline prices have dipped below $4 per gallon for the first time since the start of hostilities. Due to the low oil prices, further declines in prices are anticipated,” Vance pointed out.
Vance mentioned a significant development on the military front: “Iran has not attacked any ships in the Strait of Hormuz for two consecutive nights. They seem to be honoring their part of the agreement,” he said, adding that the U.S. is reciprocating by lifting the blockade.
He elaborated on the nuances of the deal, stating it remains applicable regardless of Iran’s future compliance. “Primarily, their nuclear program has been completely dismantled. The facilities that were pivotal in developing enrichment capabilities and potential nuclear weapons are still in ruins. Their conventional military strength is also severely compromised,” he explained while assessing Iran’s readiness to take further steps in line with Trump’s peace strategy.
Vance dismissed claims from Iranian regime media suggesting that Iran is benefiting from dealings with the U.S. “You’ll hear numbers like $300 billion or $24 million floating around, but the reality is that the Iranians won’t receive any resources from the U.S. unless they fully comply and alter their behavior, creating a win-win situation for America,” he clarified.
He emphasized the stakes of the situation: “If Iran doesn’t adjust its approach, its military and nuclear capabilities will remain neutralized. Conversely, if they do change their behavior, it will transform relationships in the Middle East, benefiting both the region and the Iranian populace.” Vance concluded this point by framing it as a significant victory for both the American people and the president, regardless of Iran’s eventual decisions.
