Vance Will ‘Bend Over Backwards to Enable Trump’

The Biden campaign issued the statement after former President Donald Trump announced that he would nominate Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate.

Biden campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a press release: I have written Trump chose Vance as his “running vice presidential candidate” because he will “do what former Vice President Mike Pence did not do on January 6th.”

“Donald Trump chose J.D. Vance as his running mate because Vance will do what Mike Pence did not do on January 6th: do everything in his power to support Trump and his extreme MAGA agenda, even if it means breaking the law and whatever harm it may cause to the American people.”

“As Trump’s running mate, Vance will make it his mission to carry out Trump’s Project 2025 agenda at the expense of American families,” the statement continued. “He is someone who supports a nationwide abortion ban while criticizing exceptions for rape and incest victims, vehemently opposed Obamacare’s protections for millions of people with pre-existing conditions, and has acknowledged that he would not have endorsed a free and fair election in 2020.”

The Biden campaign statement said Trump statement Truth Social announced that it had selected Vance as its vice president.

“After lengthy deliberation and reflection, and after considering many other incredible talents, I have determined that the person best qualified to serve as Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the great state of Ohio,” Trump said in a statement. “J.D. served our country honorably in the Marine Corps, graduated summa cum laude from Ohio State University in his second year, and graduated from Yale Law School, where he served as editor of the Yale Law Journal and president of the Yale Law Veterans Association.”

Vance is also the author of a memoir. Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and a Culture in CrisisIt was also made into a movie.
