Eye-popping dashcam footage shows a pickup truck speeding off a highway in New Mexico and plowing into a line of pumps at a gas station on Sunday.
The shocking video was captured by a fellow driver who nearly pulled into the same speedway gas station in La Plata around 6 p.m. during a road trip from Seattle to Mississippi.
A gray pickup truck was caught on tape plowing into at least two gas pumps, and its overhang quickly collapsed to the ground, leaving a huge fireball.
Authorities said the driver, who was in serious condition, was traveling northbound on New Mexico Highway 170 before veering off the road.
“Oh my god!” exclaimed driver Tyler Turner, who was caught on his dashcam talking to another person.
“What? What is that?”
According to additional information, the truck cleaned out the gas pump before eventually hitting a metal fence and coming to a stop. Video taken by Turner.
The driver of the out-of-control truck claims he doesn’t remember the accident. This was announced by the San Juan Sheriff’s Office. Authorities do not believe alcohol was involved.
Turner said he was told by the sheriff’s office that the woman had suffered a seizure prior to the accident.
The driver of the pickup truck miraculously escaped injury, and no one else was injured at the tragic scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office is reminding people with medical conditions to comply with their prescribed medical treatment and use caution when operating motor vehicles,” the law enforcement agency said.
