Vikings lineman’s wife says she was ‘heckled, touched and called names’ during game vs Lions

Whitney Risner, wife of Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Dalton Risner, spoke about the behavior of Detroit Lions fans at Ford Field ahead of Sunday night's matchup.

Risner had been making a “get ready” video showing off his attire before heading into both teams' crucial NFC North game. She said she didn't expect there to be so much heckling when the teams played in Detroit last year.

“Last year I wore a flashy purple jacket and I had never been heckled so much at an away game,” she said. in the video.

She added more information to the screen about Sunday night's game.

“Little did I know that at last night's game (just for being a Vikings fan) I would be heckled, groped, and called names by Detroit fans,” she added.

Vikings linebacker Blake Cashman's girlfriend Taylor Sanders also responded to social media comments praising Lions fans, claiming that fans are “praying for injuries to opposing players.”

Both games at Ford Field in 2023 and Sunday night had raucous crowds. Detroit fans have been rooting for their team as they head into the playoffs.

This season, the Lions will enter the playoffs as the No. 1 seed. They will have home field advantage through the NFC playoffs and hope to make it to the Super Bowl.

This is the first time since the 1950s that the Lions have won back-to-back district titles. The team has never advanced to the Super Bowl.

They might end up facing the Vikings again in the playoffs. Minnesota put together a great season behind Sam Darnold and finished just behind Detroit in the division.
