Viral video shows woman assault Chipotle worker over chicken burrito bowl order

On Saturday, a woman assaulted an employee at a Chipotle restaurant in Washington, D.C., after an argument over an order of chicken burrito bowls.

A video of the altercation went viral on social media and was viewed more than 7 million times.

Roberto Hernandez told WTHR-TV that the woman came into the store and demanded a refund because her Uber Eats order didn't include meat or seasonings.

“It was the men who came and attacked me. I was cooking food when one of the crew members assaulted me.”

She was told the refund would have to come from Uber, so she went behind the counter and offered herself two replacement burrito bowls.

video showed Hernandez grabbed the bowl from the woman's hand, and the woman slammed it into his face.

“I was angry and upset, but I can't hit a woman because I'm a man,” Hernandez said. “So I walked away.”

Hernandez said the woman allegedly threatened online to return to the store and stab the employee.

the woman spoke To WUSA-TV And although she has some regrets, she said she wants Chipotle to release the full surveillance video of the incident.

“I'm not saying what I did was right, but I'm not saying it was wrong either. I was right to some extent,” the woman said.

She said she accepted the first order but refused to reorder because the receipt didn't say she ordered double meat.

“I know you can't go behind the counter, but when my food is taken, it's like having my property taken. You have to go after them and take your belongings instead of going after them and assaulting them.” ” she said.

“I apologize. I'm sorry it ended the way it did and that he was assaulted,” she added. “But again it was the men who came and assaulted me. I was assaulted by one of the crew members while I was cooking the meal.”

Employees told WUSA they had not heard from the company and wanted to request additional security for the store. After the interview, Chipotle announced it was filing a police report on the employee's behalf. The woman also said she plans to sue Chipotle.

Hernandez had a final message for his customers.

“I hope the food was good,” he said.
