Baseball Hall of Fame and former Yankees infielder Wade Boggs can proudly “rance the bell.”
Boggs was posted to his X account On Friday, he officially suffered from cancer, thanked his doctors, along with fans who plunged him into thoughts and prayers after his battle with prostate cancer.
“On a very emotional day, I cannot thank everyone of mine either for your thoughts and prayers.
His announcement will be nearly five months after he revealed his diagnosis of prostate cancer on September 8th.
“The strength and support of my family and my faith in God make me ring that bell,” Boggs wrote during his initial diagnosis.
Now he can ring the bell, a patient's habit, when he finishes treatment.
The 66-year-old Boggs spent 18 big league seasons with the Red Sox (1982-92), Yankees (1993-97) and Rays (1998-99).
The third baseman is also a member of the exclusive 3,000 hit club and reached that mark in Tampa Bay in his final season.
As a 12-time All-Star and five-time batting champion, Boggs was selected to the Hall of Fame in 2005 with the first vote to receive 91.9% of the vote.

In addition to his 3,010 career hits, the Boggs scored over 1,500 runs, recorded 118 home runs, collecting over 1,014 RBIs.
The Hall of Fame was consistently ranked in the top 40 on average in career batting, reaching .328 in 9,000 at-bats.
Boggs was the only member of the Yankees to win the World Series title in 1996.
