Walz says 90-year-old mom lives off social security check during North Carolina rally

On Thursday night, the first day of early voting in North Carolina, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz went on the campaign trail in Durham and made a personal revelation about his mother.

Walz said at a campaign rally that his mother has to wait for her monthly Social Security check to feed herself.

According to Forbes, Mr. Waltz has an estimated net worth of more than $1 million.

Walz has spent most of his career in the public service sector. He is a former public school teacher and Army National Guard soldier who served six terms in the Minnesota Legislature before becoming governor of Minnesota in 2019.

Since August, the Trump-Vance ticket has conducted a total of 81 interviews, compared to 44 for Harris-Waltz.

“We're all products of the past. When you grow up as a middle-class kid in Oakland or Butte, Nebraska, you worry about Social Security,” Walz said.

Walz went on to claim that Donald Trump and his “wealthy friends” don't care or aren't even worried about Social Security.

“When my mom looks for Social Security deposits to be deposited into her bank account, that's how she supports herself. That's how she gets things done. [Trump] “I don't care if I get a Social Security check or not,” Walz argued.

Walz also touted that 100 million Americans will receive tax cuts under President Kamala Harris, adding that Minnesota passed the largest tax cut in its history, aimed at the middle class rather than the wealthy. Ta.

“One of the things we understand about this issue is that economies work best when they are fair and focused on the middle class,” Walz said.

Walz, who will be joined by former President Bill Clinton, will hold another campaign event in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This will be his third campaign visit to the Tar Heel State as Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate.

Walz may have been referring to gun violence and President Trump's rhetoric when he said the problem would continue for “four more years,” but his comments prompted conservative commentators to criticize the Biden administration.
