Former President Barack Obama is in Arizona on Friday, holding a campaign event for Vice President Harris in the key battleground state.
Shortly after President Biden announced he was withdrawing from the 2024 race, President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama endorsed Harris. Since giving a powerful speech at the Democratic National Convention in the summer, the former president has been on the ground trying to drum up support for Harris against her Republican rivals.
The Obamas will continue to campaign in battleground states next week.
With just over two weeks left until Election Day, former President Trump holds a narrow lead over the Vice President in the Grand Canyon State. The Republican candidate has 49 percent support in the state, compared to 47.3 percent support for Ms. Harris, according to Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters polling.
President Obama's remarks in Tucson, Arizona, are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EDT.
