We Don’t Want to Be World’s Leading Oil, Gas Producer Forever

Speaking on Fox Business Network’s “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” on Tuesday, White House senior adviser Amos Hochstein said that while the U.S. is the world’s largest oil and gas producer, it doesn’t want that to continue forever, just for as long as it takes to transition to green energy.

Hochstein said Biden “has created an energy economy that supports the energy transition, while U.S. production is at an all-time high of over 13 million barrels per day, oil and natural gas production is at an all-time high, the highest levels in U.S. history, and the United States is the largest producer in the world. But this is not just something we want to continue, we want it to continue for as long as necessary.” [for] “It’s a transition. So we’re trying to get more electric vehicles built in America, built by Americans, sold to Americans, but we’re also getting more renewable energy. So I think it’s hard to say the president isn’t balancing that approach and doing everything, including lowering gas prices for the American consumer.”
