On the latest episode of Fox News channel’s “Life, Liberty & Levin,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich spoke about what he referred to as a “judicial dictatorship,” highlighting efforts by district courts to challenge President Donald Trump.
Gingrich suggested that Trump might want to consider the actions of former President Thomas Jefferson, who sought to diminish the power of the courts by repealing the Judiciary Act of 1801.
“In the last segment, I asked you what their agenda is,” host Mark Levin remarked. “I want to be careful, but I know their agenda really well. It’s essentially American Marxism. I wrote a book on it, so shouldn’t they be discussing it?”
“There’s no evidence that it’s effective,” Gingrich responded. “You’re raising a whole generation that’s seen the government lie about various issues, like community and the whole Russia narrative. The FBI has been compromised, and when we poll for the new majority project in America, the public appears to feel that corruption is prevalent. Naturally, those benefiting from corruption won’t be content.”
“I don’t believe there’s a constitutional basis for district court judges to act like alternative presidents; many of these rulings are just absurd,” he continued. “The founders noted that Jefferson removed 14 judges—not by firing them individually but by merely eliminating their positions, and then they went home.”
