A well-off couple, who co-founded the plant-based supplement brand Symbiotica, faced a harrowing experience when an armed intruder broke into their rented home in Cannes. This incident occurred while they were in France for the Cannes Lions International Festival, according to reports.
Shahab Elmi, Durana Elmi, and their two children were staying in a rental property when the attack happened early Thursday morning. Three masked men entered the home, held the family at gunpoint, and made off with items valued in the millions.
Among the stolen goods were a Richard Mille watch costing over $500,000, $200,000 in cash, as well as various other luxury items and jewelry.
A representative of the family explained that during their time at the festival, they had been engaged in meaningful discussions surrounding health and wellness with some prominent figures. They also shared that Durana Elmi had fulfilled a dream by meeting Oprah Winfrey.
Tragically, after an enjoyable night at the festival, the family experienced a terrifying home invasion. Thankfully, they emerged physically unharmed but sought privacy as they navigate the aftermath of this shocking incident.
Interestingly, Symbiotica, which was founded in 2018 by Charvin Jaffarieh and his wife, has seen impressive growth. Just recently, the company expanded its reach into all Target stores across the United States, secured $25 million in new funding, and attracted celebrity investors like Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Zac Efron.
