Dog Walker Arrested for Impersonating FBI Agent

A dog walker from Westchester has been arrested for impersonating an FBI agent at Rye Playland. This incident follows a previous arrest for making a false report about being shot, according to police.

John Fiore, 47, was seen wearing an FBI badge on his waist. On July 4, he approached people in the amusement park, claiming to be a federal employee who had been injured while on duty. A police report indicated that people raised suspicions about him.

When two undercover Westchester County police officers approached Fiore, he flashed his badge and insisted he had been shot in the line of duty. In an odd display, he removed his knee brace to show supposed injuries. He even claimed that the dog he had with him was a K-9 officer who had been shot alongside him.

However, an alert undercover detective recognized something suspicious. After Fiore left, this detective received a business card from him offering dog walking services.

Despite attempts to verify his claims, investigators couldn’t find any evidence to support his story. Notably, they couldn’t locate the dog Fiore claimed had injured him, nor anyone involved in such an incident, or even an FBI agent who might know him.

It was later revealed that Fiore had previously been arrested in May after he falsely reported being shot, stating he was injured by an unknown assailant. This was determined to be a fabrication.

Upon searching Fiore’s home, authorities discovered numerous illegal firearms, stolen psychedelic mushrooms, and bags of unknown white powder.

Following this incident, Fiore was convicted of felony impersonation and is expected to appear in Rye City Court again on Wednesday. His attorney has not yet provided a comment.
