What Healthcare Providers Need to Understand About Ebola Bundibugyo Virus

Overview

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is addressing an outbreak of the Ebola Bundibugyo virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. Currently, the risk to the American public and travelers is considered low. However, as with many serious infectious diseases, healthcare professionals are usually the first to identify such outbreaks. During this COCA Call, attendees can learn more about the outbreak, the background of the Bundibugyo virus, and essential information for U.S. clinicians on preparing for, diagnosing, and managing patients suspected of having Ebola. Additionally, strategies for preventing the spread of Ebola will be discussed.
