Vice President Vance Discusses Iran Conflict on “The Will Cain Show”

During an appearance on FNC’s “The Will Cain Show” this Thursday, Vice President J.D. Vance shared his insights on the ongoing situation with Iran, particularly regarding how it might unfold.

Vance identified two main objectives: reducing energy prices and preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons. “Let’s talk a little bit about Iran,” said host Will Cain, expressing frustration over the unpredictable nature of the situation. He noted the back-and-forth regarding potential agreements and military actions, highlighting the tension surrounding access to the Strait of Hormuz. Cain then posed a question to Vance: “How will this end? And if it does?”

In response, Vance confidently suggested that resolution would come once the U.S. gains a stronger position, Iran no longer poses a nuclear threat, and stability returns to the Strait of Hormuz to ensure consistent oil and gas prices for Americans. He acknowledged the challenge of Iranian promises, which often go unfulfilled, and noted that the fluctuating nature of the situation can be traced back to the various tactics the U.S. employs, whether they lean towards energy management or military readiness.

“The president has considerable authority, leveraging diplomatic, military, and economic tools,” Vance elaborated. “Internally, we’re utilizing these methods judiciously to achieve the necessary outcomes beneficial to the American public.” He emphasized the importance of maintaining a steady supply of oil and gas globally, recognizing the recent drops in oil prices but insisting that keeping energy affordable for Americans remains paramount.

“Additionally, the second critical aim is to ensure that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon,” Vance continued. “While I’m optimistic about achieving both objectives, the unpredictability of the Iranians makes the situation inherently challenging, as they can be unreliable in their commitments to us.”
