What Trump’s Gaza Takeover Plan Could Mean

President Donald Trump has shocked the world on Tuesday, with a proposal to move most of other residents and then take over Gaza as a US territory.

The idea gained cautious support from Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was standing by President Trump at a press conference in the east room of the White House. But it also attracted immediate opposition and criticism. There are some discussions and some questions.

Discussion:

  • There is no way to solve a strategic problem that Gaza posesGaza obviously causes a threat to Israel. It was also a major issue for the two states solutions. Theoretically, the state of Palestine is still not continuous, and the west coast of the Jordan is connected to Gaza via transportation infrastructure. However, Gaza is culturally different from the west coast of the Jordan River. And because the population is growing in small areas, there is constantly humanitarian problems.
  • Gaza cannot be essentially destroyed by the war and cannot live in essence. This is a debate used by President Trump and a special special envoy Steve Witkov. Most of the Gaza buildings have been damaged or destroyed. Hamas's terrorist tunnel also impairs the foundation and utility. The rebuilding is still 2 million people in the area, but it takes decades to complete.
  • The 20 -year experiment in Gaza's Palestina Vanance was a miserable failure. Israel completely withdrawn from Gaza in 2005. Palestinians launched rockets in Israel, selected Hamas, started terrorism attacks, killed thousands of civilian Israelites, and started terrorism attacks. Hamas still has an ideologic retention of local residents, making future autonomy a dangerous proposition, and almost inevitable the war.
  • Gaza's US ownership can be a large strategic asset. The United States has been able to change to a free trade zone that prospering Gaza. Gaza was able to change to a so -called “Singapore in the Middle East,” after the release of Israel in 2005, although Gaza could have it, but has never never done. The United States has even turned Gaza into a new army, which has a base in the Mediterranean, reducing its dependence on Arab countries such as Qatar, which had protected hamas in the past.
  • The prosperous coastal Gaza can become an economic engine in the area. Removing fear and poverty from Gaza has a major place between warm (humid), excellent fishing, and strategic places between Cairo and Jerusalem. Prosperity and beach resort have no restrictions that can result. It may be another Dubai, but in the Mediterranean. Blessed instead of a curse.

question:

  • Where is Gazan going? President Trump seemed to have tended to allow a small number of Palestinians to stay in Gaza, but he also said that more than 75 % of them should be restored elsewhere. Egypt and Jordan have refused to take them, and other countries have not stepped up to provide their homes. However, Washington's Israeli national team seems to believe that Indonesia, who wants a normalization agreement, could be an option.
  • Is the US military dangerous? President Trump seems to be open at least in the short term that the US military is being used to secure Gaza. Hamas is mostly destroyed, but American soldiers may face the same risk as Israeli soldiers facing -booby traps, roadside bombs, ambush, etc. The United States may, for example, may not be detained in Gaza than Iraq and Afghanistan, but few Americans have a desire for war.
  • Who intends to pay it? President Trump implies that wealthy Arab countries will remove explosives, destroy archeological sites, and to develop the next coming. However, the Arab state has no intention of moving forward yet. And Americans will certainly oppose spending taxpayers in Gaza. Unless Israel wants to resident Gaza, it is unknown who cares enough to plow the territory.
  • Is Trump's idea legal? There are sufficient legal precedents to move the defeat and massacre population. For example, many millions of ethnic Germans migrated in the wake of the defeat of the Nazi in World War II. However, some scholars will quote the 4th Geneva Treaty to oppose the transfer of occupied population (although may not be applied).
  • Is the idea accepted as legal? Saudi Arabia immediately responded to Trump's proposal and claimed that the Palestinian state was a condition for Israel. American Arabs and Muslim organizations also refused this idea. The Trump administration stated that the Palestinians would be better elsewhere, but they are probably true, but the Palestinians have rarely selected on their own welfare.

All of these discussions will be developed in the next few days. Trump's proposal is simply a way to “shake the box”, and it is very likely that it is a method of provoking actors in other regions and taking responsibility for Palestinians before doing so. Obviously, Trump fell down in favor of Israel as a winner of the war that Hamas began. It is an important diplomatic victory after a lot of sacrifice for Netanyahu and Israeli people.
