“In Miami, it’s all about love,” Tyler Herro remarked. The new Bucks guard was discussing his departure from the Heat following an incident involving Bam Adebayo. Despite the altercation, both players indicated that they were pleased with their current circumstances.
During an NBA Summer League game, where he watched the Bucks play against the Heat, Herro mingled with former teammates and staff. “It’s an opportunity for both of us to reset and start fresh,” he said during a Prime Video broadcast. “Everyone is doing well in Miami.”
The situation between the two players escalated when Herro made a comment to Adebayo in front of Herro’s AAU team at a gym. According to reports, Adebayo approached Herro and struck him without delay.
One of Herro’s AAU coaches reportedly confronted Adebayo while security escorted Herro away from the scene. Adebayo chose to leave afterward on his own.
The Heat released a statement to ESPN saying, “We are aware but will not comment.” Meanwhile, the Bucks opted not to provide any remarks on the incident.
Herro and Adebayo have been teammates for the last seven years, and there haven’t been any previous incidents. However, following a trade—where Giannis Antetokounmpo moved to Miami and Herro to the Bucks—things took a turn. Herro shared a graphic on Instagram that seemed to take a jab at both Adebayo and Antetokounmpo. The post highlighted players with the lowest mid-range shooting percentages, placing Antetokounmpo at the bottom, with Adebayo not far behind.
Additionally, alleged direct messages surfaced, suggesting that Herro critiqued Adebayo’s defense, although he didn’t mention Adebayo’s name directly.
