Crypto Analyst Predicts Altcoin Surge If Bitcoin Metrics Shift

A well-known crypto analyst suggests that a reversal in key Bitcoin (BTC) metrics might lead to a significant rally for Altcoins.

Crypto trader Rekt Capital informs his 549,600 followers on social media that Bitcoin Dominance (BTC.D) appears to be entering a bearish phase after reaching a historical peak. This could pave the way for Altcoins to outshine Bitcoin.

“BTC Dominance: Historically, when Bitcoin dominance dips from 71% (red), it marks the start of a true Altcoin season that many anticipate.”

BTC.D measures the percentage of the entire crypto market that Bitcoin represents. A downward trend in this metric indicates Altcoins are gaining value more rapidly than Bitcoin.

Other analysts also point out that BTC.D may not need to reach precisely 71% before a turnaround, but it could hover near that figure.

“There’s really no benefit in arguing whether BTC.D will end up at 71%, 69%, or 67%. The upward trend in Bitcoin’s dominance has been established for some time now.”

Lastly, Rekt Capital notes that once BTC.D peaks, it’s unlikely that Altcoins will completely lose value, although there may be considerable adjustments before AltSeason begins.

“In February, Bitcoin dominance rose from 58% to 64%, a 6% gain. Right now, it’s only about 5.7% shy of that 71% mark. Altcoins won’t drop to zero; instead, they may respond similarly to February 2025.”

Currently, Bitcoin’s dominance stands at 65.30%.
