Ocasio-Cortez Suggests Trump’s Behavior is Worsening
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) expressed concerns about President Donald Trump’s behavior, describing it as “increasingly erratic.” She shared her thoughts during a discussion with Immigration Insider editor Pablo Manriquez, who questioned the impact of Trump’s cognitive abilities amidst the ongoing events in Davos.
“I think the president has become increasingly erratic,” Ocasio-Cortez said, referencing a video shared on social media. She noted a stark contrast between media coverage of Joe Biden and the current situation with Trump. In her view, the behavior showcased by Trump is alarming, suggesting that “everyone is pretending this is normal.”
She further argued that America’s allies observe a government willing to let someone struggle publicly without intervening. This perspective emphasizes the seriousness of Trump’s actions on the international stage.
In response, White House press secretary Liz Houston countered Ocasio-Cortez’s claims, asserting that Trump continues to thrive globally and make significant deals that benefit the nation. “While deranged Democrats like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez push these blatant lies, President Trump dominates the world stage,” she stated.
Moreover, Houston recalled Ocasio-Cortez’s earlier support for Biden when he faced criticism for a poor debate performance against Trump, implying a lack of consistency in her political stance. Ocasio-Cortez had publicly backed Biden before he ultimately withdrew from the race in July 2024.
President Trump recently declared he is in “perfect health,” claiming to have passed a cognitive test successfully. He expressed that anyone aspiring to presidential or vice-presidential roles should undergo a rigorous cognitive evaluation: “Our great country cannot be run by ‘stupid’ or incompetent people!”
In a previous statement, Trump referred to Ocasio-Cortez as “one of the most ‘stupid’ people in Congress,” continuing the back-and-forth between the two politicians.
