The White House vowed on Saturday that U.S. support for Israel’s security is “ironclad,” supporting the Jewish state and “supporting their defense,” after Iran launched a drone attack on the country Saturday afternoon. He promised to support.

“Iran has launched an airborne attack against Israel,” White House National Security Council Press Secretary Adrian Watson said in a statement Saturday. “President Biden has been regularly briefed by his national security team and is scheduled to meet with them at the White House this afternoon.”
The White House said the president’s team is “in constant communication with Israeli officials and other partners and allies.”
“This attack is likely to unfold over several hours,” Watson said.
“President Biden is clear: Our support for Israel’s security is unwavering,” Watson continued. “The United States stands with the Israeli people and helps defend Israel against the Iranian threat,” he said.

The president is scheduled to meet with national security officials in the White House Situation Room on Saturday evening to discuss the situation in the Middle East. Officials include Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Q. Brown, CIA Director Bill Burns, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. is likely to be included.
The president was briefed by his national security team earlier in the day.
Early Saturday morning, Israeli Prime Minister Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Israel said it had been “preparing for a possible direct attack from Iran” for several weeks.
