White House urges Israel to evaluate the damage at Iran’s nuclear facilities

White House pushes Israeli assessment of damage to Iran’s nuclear sites

On Wednesday, the White House supported Israel’s claims regarding recent US military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. This aligns with ongoing assertions that these actions have significantly impacted Iran’s nuclear program.

Shortly after President Trump indicated that Iran’s nuclear advancements had regressed, the White House instructed the press traveling with him to relay a statement from the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission.

According to the statement, “The destructive US strike at Fordo has eliminated critical infrastructure and rendered enrichment capabilities nonfunctional. The collaborative US and Israeli attacks on Iran’s military nuclear components are believed to hinder Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons.”

It was suggested that “this progress could persist indefinitely if Iran cannot access nuclear materials.”

Interestingly, an internal assessment revealed that the recent strikes were only marginally effective—only a few months’ worth of progress had been disrupted in Iran’s nuclear efforts. This contradicted initial assertions from the Trump administration that these sites were fully incapacitated. Reports also indicated that Iran had relocated much of its enriched uranium before the strikes.

During a NATO summit in The Hague, Trump criticized media outlets such as CNN and the New York Times for their skepticism, asserting that US actions had resulted in the “complete destruction” of Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Additional comments came from senior figures including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegses, who noted that investigations into the leak of the preliminary classification report were ongoing. Rubio mentioned that “a significant loss has been suffered.”
